Haiku for the week

Rules they won't tell you,
Questions that have no answers:
Kafka seeks a visa.

I always knew getting back into China was going to be tough. The knowledge has been of little avail in strengthening me to face the ordeal.

This is a case where forewarned appears to be only pre-depressed.

Another wonderful story idea here: a man fighting Draconian bureaucracy in order to de-escape a repressive country.

I don't think a bureaucracy can be 'Draconian' - only punishments, and the judicial regimes that impose them. (He said, putting on his Classical pedant hat for a moment. I don't like to wear it too often because it makes my hair fall out, but I always keep it within easy reach.)

What's that they say - the only person who rushes into a place that everybody else is leaving is a firefighter? I wonder what we can do with that metaphor?
