A holiday haiku

Bright sun overhead,
Cooling breeze from the river:
Perfect morning run.

I do like the Mount Vernon Trail. (Apart from all the bloody bikers!)

Following the link, I found your touching story about the girl on roller blades. Just like the one Everett Sloane told.

You're in the USA? My, you do get around. No wonder everyone thinks you're a spy.

LOL, and I though I was the only one who thought that about Froog. JES, thanks for mentioning the thing I never wanted to mention, so that I wouldn't blow his cover.

Surely in Everett's day they would have been rollerskates, Tony?

I jest, of course. That's one of my favourite moments from Kane. And I did come upon you retelling of the incident when I was browsing through your archives earlier in the year.

I have a nagging feeling that there's something similar in L'Éducation sentimentale - Frederic glimpses a young woman on at a train station or on a boat, never speaks to her or sees her again, yet his romantic imagination is haunted by her for the rest of his days. Am I just deluding myself on that? I haven't read the book since I was at school.

One of my favorite moments in the movie, too. (Bernstein in general, for some reason, is for me the most affecting character.)
